Grupa dziedzicznych schorzeń dotyczących jednej lub kilku warstw rogówki, m.in. dystrofia śródbłonka Fuchsa (często związana z ekspansją powtórzeń w genie TCF4), ziarnista i siateczkowa dystrofia związana z genem TGFBI oraz rzadsze postacie wywoływane przez geny takie jak SLC4A11, COL8A2, ZEB1 i CHST6.
Co zmienia diagnoza
Osobom, u których wykryto warianty w genie TGFBI, zazwyczaj zaleca się unikanie laserowych zabiegów refrakcyjnych (LASIK lub PRK), ponieważ mogą one nasilić złogi. W zaawansowanej chorobie przeszczep rogówki może przywrócić widzenie.
