Dystrophie cornéenne
Groupe d'affections héréditaires touchant une ou plusieurs couches de la cornée, notamment la dystrophie endothéliale de Fuchs (souvent liée à une expansion de répétitions dans le gène TCF4), les dystrophies granuleuses et réticulaires liées au gène TGFBI, ainsi que des formes plus rares causées par des gènes tels que SLC4A11, COL8A2, ZEB1 et CHST6.
Ce que change un diagnostic
Il est généralement recommandé aux porteurs de variants du gène TGFBI d'éviter la chirurgie réfractive au laser (LASIK ou PRK), qui peut aggraver les dépôts. Une greffe de cornée peut rétablir la vision dans les formes avancées de la maladie.
