Dysregulation of immune responses based on genetic causes may result in increased susceptibility to bacterial and viral infections, with possible systemic complications. In Hyper IgE syndromes, there is a serum increase in this type of antibodies (eosinophilia), accompanied by cutaneous and pulmonary manifestations (of infectious origin) and in some cases also neurological ones.
This test is appropriate for those who exhibit signs and symptoms of Hyper IgE syndrome, such as elevated serum IgE, recurrent skin and lung infections, unexplained bone deformities and dermatological manifestations such as eczema, abscesses and pyoderma or for those with a positive family history for this group of conditions.
The analysis takes into consideration the mutation of germline DNA, it investigates SNP and Indel mutations up to 150 bp.
