- Next Generation Sequencing
- Next Generation Sequencing (often abbreviated to NGS) is the modern approach to reading DNA. Instead of reading short spans of DNA (for example Sanger Sequencing) or looking for individual changes (microarray), NGS reads the whole genome end-to-end. The term is often used interchangeably with High Throughput Sequencing (or HTS).
