Thiopurine tolerance
Pharmacogenomics
NUDT15 inactivates thiopurine metabolites. Reduced activity allows them to build up in bone marrow, raising the risk of severe myelosuppression.
- Relevant if you are treated with azathioprine, mercaptopurine or thioguanine for IBD, leukaemia, or autoimmune disease.
- Read alongside TPMT — both shape thiopurine dosing, and either alone can require a lower dose.
