Hypothyroidism Polygenic Risk Score
Hypothyroidism is an underactive thyroid that makes too little thyroid hormone. In iodine-sufficient countries the most common cause is Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune condition that is far more common in women.
A risk score adds up many common variants, each with a small effect, into an estimate of genetic predisposition. It is not a diagnosis.

Limitations
- A polygenic score does not measure iodine intake, which is the most common cause of thyroid disorders worldwide.
