Diversity of Cardinium Endosymbiont Genomes from Plant-Parasitic Nematodes
This study generated ten new Cardinium genomes from plant-parasitic nematodes, showing that groups B and F are closely related and likely share a single evolutionary origin. Two genomes from Bursaphelenchus species showed substantial genome reduction, and analysis found losses in several metabolic pathways and evidence of horizontal gene transfer.

Dante Labs carried out DNA library construction and sequencing for this study, alongside Novogene Co., Ltd., who performed the same tasks for three of the samples.
At Dante Labs, an MGI library prep kit was used following the manufacturer's recommendations. Pooled DNA libraries were then sequenced on our MGI T7 instrument to obtain 150 bp paired-end reads.
