Trait
Low semen volume
Volume of semen in ejaculate below the lower limit of normal. This finding can be ascertained by semen analysis. Comment: Sperm are produced within the testis, in the process of spermatogenesis, then travel through the male reproductive tract (the seminiferous tubules, epididymis, vas deferens, prostate and urethra). As the sperm travel, seminal fluid is added from the seminal vesicles, prostate, testis and epididymis and periurethral glands. The function of the ejaculate is to transport sperm into the female genital tract and to provide a suitable environment for sperm survival during this transit.

Changes in these genes cause rare conditions in which Low semen volume is seen. Most people with this trait have none of those conditions, and a gene on this list says nothing about anyone's own genome.
| Gene | How often it is seen | Conditions |
|---|---|---|
| CFAP54cilia and flagella associated protein 54 | Often (30–79%) | In 1 condition |
How often is among people with one of the gene's conditions, the most often across them, as the Human Phenotype Ontology records it. These pages describe traits and the research behind them; they are not a diagnosis, and a doctor or genetic counsellor is the person to ask about symptoms.
