El panel del Síndrome de Gilbert es una prueba genética utilizada para identificar mutaciones en el gen UGT1A1, que está involucrado en el metabolismo de la bilirrubina. Las mutaciones en este gen pueden provocar el síndrome de Gilbert, un trastorno genético común caracterizado por niveles elevados de bilirrubina en la sangre. El panel prueba las variantes genéticas que se sabe que afectan estos procesos.
Este panel está diseñado para personas con antecedentes familiares del síndrome de Gilbert o personas con síntomas de la afección, como ictericia leve, fatiga y dolor abdominal.
