This report tests for mutations in genes associated with long QT syndrome, a condition that affects the electrical activity of the heart and can lead to abnormal heart rhythms and sudden cardiac death. Long QT syndrome can be caused by genetic mutations or by other factors such as medications. Testing can help identify individuals who may be at risk of developing the condition and inform their medical management.
